LangGraph
A LangChain extension for building stateful, multi-agent workflows as graphs.
What is LangGraph?
LangGraph is the production-grade tool for building agents with proper state management. Where vanilla LangChain agents can get confused in long workflows, LangGraph models the workflow as a graph — nodes (steps) and edges (transitions) with explicit state.
The key features: **persistent state** (the agent remembers what happened across steps), **conditional routing** (different paths depending on state), **human-in-the-loop checkpoints** (pause for approval), and **debugging via LangSmith** (see exactly what each node did).
LangGraph is what most senior Gen AI engineering interviews probe for in 2026. "Build me a customer-support agent with state" is now a standard system-design question at Indian AI startups.
LangGraph is the differentiator between junior and senior agent engineers. Knowing it lifts your salary band by ₹4–8 LPA in the Indian Gen AI market.
A Bengaluru fintech built a loan-approval agent with LangGraph that pauses for human review on edge cases, persists state across days for follow-up documents, and routes to different specialists based on loan size.
