BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
Autodesk's cloud platform for coordinating BIM projects across distributed teams.
What is BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud?
BIM 360 (rebranded as Autodesk Construction Cloud in 2024) is the cloud-based collaboration layer for BIM. It hosts the federated model, manages permissions, tracks RFIs, issues, and approvals, and provides a single source of truth across architects, engineers, contractors, and clients — often in different cities or countries.
For a BIM career, fluency in BIM 360 / ACC is what differentiates "I learned Revit at home" from "I can work on a real coordinated project". Most international hires expect ACC fluency by default.
The ACC ecosystem includes: **Docs** (document management), **Coordinate** (clash detection in the cloud), **Build** (field operations), **Cost Management**, and **Insight** (analytics). A BIM Coordinator typically lives in Docs + Coordinate + Build.
BIM 360 / ACC is the production toolchain at every Tier-1 Indian BIM consultancy and every UAE firm. Without it, you cannot work on real coordinated projects.
A BIM team distributed across Hyderabad (designers), Pune (structural), and Mumbai (MEP) all collaborate on one Bengaluru tower model via BIM 360 ACC. The Coordinator in Hyderabad runs cloud clash detection nightly; each discipline gets a fresh issues list every morning.
